High perpendicular arches frame the beautiful, elaborate fanned ceiling of Bath Abbey. In the center of the photo is a large stained glass window, with windows also topping the arches along the sides of this open, gothic, rectangular chamber.

And when beneath the pool
They dabble, and when they swim
And make their rippling rings,
O ducks are beautiful things!

A saint, presumably Mary, in a white robe and blue cloak and halo, stands on a rock amid billowing clouds, her arms stretched out in welcome.

Medieval stained glass crucifixion scene at Llanasa in Flintshire. Llanasa was one of the most important churches / monasteries in #NorthWales, holding the relics of the evangelist St Asa, but when they were moved to the 'new' cathedral of St Asaph, its glory days were over.

Photograph of a wall-mounted oval plaque bearing a coat of arms, illuminated by varicoloured light streaming from a nearby stained glass window. The arms comprise four white lions in rampant posture positioned around a gold cross on a blue background. The cross has decorativ ends in the form of fleurs-de-lis. The whole is surrounded by scrollwork, surmounted by the head and hands of a crowned figure.

King Edward the Martyr glowing in the morning light at Shaftesbury Abbey.

I love how sunlight completely transforms these windows, the colours don’t just show, they come alive.

St Oswald’s Durham It is lovely in its simplicity.. a contrast to the undoubted splendour of the cathedral But it has an original William Morris/Ford. Maddox Brown window and a lovely church organ
Impressive in its own way. A lovely surprise
