I am modeling a burgundy and gray hat that is not only too large on me, but significantly too tall as well. This is a top-down view that shows the pointed crown of the hat.
First attempt at a machine-knit shaped colourwork crown was... well, let's just say I'm glad I'd already considered this to be a prototype hat before I got started. I think a pompom will fix it, though :)

Strandef colorwork hat. It looks like. La k trees against a background of blue sky, with splashes of white and gree. The hat is still 2" too long for me. And this is after deciding to do only 2" of ribbing (rather than the nearly 4" indicated in the pattern.) I also took out some of the interim rounds after the colorwork section and before the crown decreases.
Done! It's actually too long with the ribbing unfolded. See more in alt text. I might end up tacking up the ribbing onto the inside of the hat. Which is how I'm wearing it now. #Alaskahat 🧶 #knitting #strandedcolorwork
