The Garrison Summer Ball
“I need to leave,” says HayWire.
“That’s OK,” says Conning, “and remember, we agreed that I’m walking you home to the Coliseum, you asked me to keep an eye on you when it gets late, and ensure that you manage your spoons and your bedtime routine.”
“Yes, you’re right, thank you!”
“I’ll just grab my gig bag from the changing room, and then we have to thank the Captain before we leave the building. That’s what CandiCrush recommended, especially if we want to stay on side with the Garrison. After all, I want another gig here another time, and you’re working in their Lab sometimes.”
Kayt watches them leave together, feeling a little isolated with so many couples in the room, and a bunch of marines she doesn’t really know. Including quite a few men that she’d rather not get to know!
