Eleven years ago today, Dr. Julio Montaner announced the closure of the AIDS ward at St. Paul’s Hospital. Once the epicentre of Canada’s fight against HIV/AIDS, the repurposing of a largely unused ward 10C was a symbolic reminder of the great strides made through BC’s #TasP strategy.
