Image of a world map, with the World AIDS Day logo and following text overlaid: “How are we doing? Globally we are seeing historic progress among some jurisdictions in ending the AIDS epidemic. These successes however, are uneven, and 1.3 million people globally were diagnosed with HIV in 2023 - 3 times greater than the 2025 target. Inequities increase vulnerabilities, weaken access to HIV services and undermine the global HIV response. Without a united effort, these inequities are threatening the progress being made.”
In BC, thanks to strong, fully funded provincial support of #TasP & #PrEP, we have seen greater than 90% declines in #HIV morbidity, mortality & transmission, met the UNAIDS 90-90-90 Targets & declared the end of the domestic HIV epidemic in the province last year. #WorldAIDSDay2024
