5/8 The #provenance isn’t certain, but Mr. #Fujii suspects they came from the Taurid meteor shower, which peaks this month.

The Taurids, streaming off Comet #Encke, are known to feature "larger-than-average meteors that move at particularly high speeds."

A Supermoon and Meteor Shower Tonight I see that they are calling today's (Wednesday, November 5, 2025) Full Moon "the biggest Moon of the year." But why? It will be full here in my neighborhood at 8:19 a.m. - which is when I hit the publish button on this post. It is most commonly called the Beaver Moon, but I doubt that many of my readers have any beavers nearby that they are observing.
