To make Steve Rodgers (Chris Evans) look like the Super Solider he is, this scene uses one of the oldest practical effects in the books: a #TexasSwitch
As Evans runs past the camera; the camera pans left to follow Anthony Mackie . . . revealing another runner sprinting off into the distance.

You can even see the tire treads on the lawn from where the stunt car drove past the already-parked hero car.
Like Uptown Girls, this #TexasSwitch allows a stuntie to take the fall.
Roat (Alan Arkin) stabs Mike (Richard Crenna) - then Roat steps through the door, pauses menacingly, the camera follows him, and he pushes the stuntie down the steps . . . Crenna having used the pause to get out of shot.
As Molly (Brittany Murphy) talks on the phone, soap suds overflow from her washing machine in the background. When Molly realizes, she drops the phone and runs.
When Brittany Murphy gets offscreen, the #TexasSwitch is on! and the stuntperson dashes in to take the slip-and-fall.

Why a #TexasSwitch? Because the distance is too far for Ritter to be so casually, perfectly composed for the jump scare, while Rodney being able to move this quickly is just on the edge of ‘technically feasible’ that Poker Face plays on.
#PokerFace 2.10 "The Big Pump" makes nice use of a #TexasSwitch to give us a lil jump scare as Rodney (Jason Ritter) startles Brick (Cliff “Method Man” Smith) in the gym after hours.

The #TexasSwitch depicts Bill's realisation: she’s been a Cyberman for some time.
The cut back to a wide of Bill observing her hand in the same way ties it all together, showing how her brain is struggling to reconcile the perception of who she was and is.

The camera focuses on the hand, and there’s a neat little #TexasSwitch where Pearl Mackie steps away and someone dressed as a Cyberman steps into her place, so when the camera moves back, it’s depicting Bill’s realisation . . .
Sometimes the actor/prop moves offcamera for a #TexasSwitch . . . sometimes the camera moves!
#DoctorWho pans the camera Left to Kate Stewart, she looks UP, sound effects ensue, camera pans Right; meanwhile actor in uniform / actor in Zygon suit switch places.
Simple, effective, fun!
Saw WAIT UNTIL DARK recently and was about as delighted by this #TexasSwitch as I was by the absolutely insane (and rightfully infamous) jump scare, and a particular close door reveal.
Wait Until Dark 2/2
They *could* have used a cut to Susy (Audrey Hepburn) a bit later, in case the #TexasSwitch didn't work
Since it did, it's much more impressive to show Mike staggering to the side then getting pushed all within one moving medium shot.
A quick and cheeky #TexasSwitch enables this oner stunt.

Mona Lisa 2/2 [see above video]
Once George (Bob Hoskins) arrives back at his table, the shot holds just long enough for us (and him) to clock the #TexasSwitch and guess at what’s happened to Cathy before it cuts on his frenetic almost-360-spin-and-check before he rushes out the door.
This scene from Mona Lisa stays with George (Bob Hoskins) to really sell the #TexasSwitch from 15 year old Cathy to . . . some much older platinum blonde chainsmoker!
The bit of business Hoskins does with his coins and coffee helps sell that he’s not noticing anything . . .
