#DB 🇩🇪 218 217-8, the only Class 218 diesel having displayed the #TEE red and cream paint scheme back in the #TransEuropExpress days, is seen here in March 2002. She was hauling a regional train on a secondary line between #Cologne and the #Eifel, a far cry from her original glory.

#Basel🇨🇭Bad Bf in April 2018: pictured here a charter train composed of #DB 🇩🇪 #AKE #Rheingold #TEE #TransEuropExpress carriages, among them several @diningcar.at. The consist, bound for Germany, was hauled by a #BLS Cargo Class 485 #Bombardier #TRAXX electric, certified for operating in🇨🇭and 🇩🇪.
#TransEuropExpress #TEE vibes in April 2009 on this excursion train from #Basel 🇨🇭 to #Lindau 🇩🇪, cruising through northern Switzerland. Hauled by a #DB Class 103 electric - and a Swiss Re4/4I - the consist included a Dome Car, labelled #Rheingold.

Seen in #Munich 🇩🇪 yesterday - and already several times earlier on, at the same spot: the private #Railadventure #Luxon, a former #DB #Rheingold #TransEuropExpress #TEE #DomeCar. Just five of them were built, in the 1960s. The car seems to have its home base here in Munich.
One of my older pictures, taken in #Brussels 🇧🇪: a #TransEuropExpress in March 1985, hauled by an #SNCF 🇫🇷 #CC40100 loco, is pictured here at #Bruxelles-Midi station. The cars are of the #TEE #PBA (for Paris-Bruxelles-Amsterdam) and of the #Mistral69 types.

I travelled through five countries today🇨🇭🇫🇷🇱🇺🇧🇪🇳🇱, almost exactly on the same route as the #Zurich to #Amsterdam #TransEuropExpress “Edelweiss” from the 1950s to the 1970s.

#SNCF 🇫🇷 #RGP units were built in the 1950s for long-distance trains, including #TransEuropExpress. They ended their careers on local duties, like #X2722 and #X2745 seen here at Bourg-en-Bresse around 2004. The latter one got an engine room door “second hand”, from a yellow unit.
The #SNCF 🇫🇷 #RGP unit #X2746 is seen here shunting at #Saint-Claude (Jura) after an arrival with the 07:05 service from nearby #Morez. This trainset is a former, 1st class only, #TransEuropExpress from the late 1950s, ending its career on local duties.
