I’m proud to say I’ve followed Dustin Rhodes career for over 36 years. Either very late 1989 or early 1990 and it was in #USWA. I was six years old at the time. I remember he came out to Tanya Tucker song. He was new in #WWF not long after that, in an angle with Dusty and Ted DiBiase. I’m old 🤦🏽
Born on this day in 1958, Jeff Gaylord.
He passed away in March 2023 at the age of 64.

Like I'd place "start of 1995 #WCW / #WWF" tied for the bottom of the list, but both promotions got better. #ECW had a few misses but was more consistent overall. #SMW was pretty good when I got used to it, but losing the Rock N Roll Express was the start of the end. #USWA was okay.

As I move on to 1996 pro wrestling, I figure I'd rank what I saw from 1995:
ECW > WCW > WWF > Smoky Mountain Wrestling > USWA. Honorable mention to WAR for their Super J-Cup tournament, but I don't know where to watch more of WAR beyond that event.

I will say this, adding USWA TV back into the 1995 shows I've been watching has shown me the start of this SMW vs USWA feud, and the broadcast tram of Lance Russell and Dave Brown has easily been the highlight of watching USWA. They're such a great broadcast team!

Also! The USWA/Smoky Mountain Wrestling feud happening in mid-1995 is super-interesting! I hate that I know that SMW doesn't survive after this. This feels like lightning that Cornette failed to capture in a bottle!
