That's fair, but also why my system is a lot less forgiving on an unnecessary triangle when I detect one.
A good triangle explores just enough to give more identity to the triangle point (i.e: #WelcomeToSamdalri), they don't need to spend more than a few episodes on it.

Both Bo Sang-do and Cho Yong-pil also had a heart-to-heart before and each of them had an equal chance to pursue Cho Sam-dal.
So when Sam-dal ends up with Yong-pil anyway, it felt organic and not a script necessity. The romance in turn, still soars by the end of it.

#WelcomeToSamdalri is one of my examples on the kind of triangle that worked for me. You close the triangle early before the main romance even solidifies so it doesn't poison it.
And Bo Sang-do passed my litmus test as this #kdrama gives me a perfect answer on who he is outside the relationship.

Since #WelcomeToSamdalri resurfaced again in my feed today, I'm bringing back this #kdrama scene that lives rent-free in my head that cemented Shin Hye-sun as my top actor.
It's terrifying how effortlessly she hijacked my emotion. When she cries, I cry.

I watched this documentary too! It's on apple? It reminded me about the portrayal of the diving ahjummas in #WelcomeToSamdalri. It's so heartwrenching and adorable there, too.
