Perchance Beckstoffer Vineyard George III Cabernet Sauvignon 2018, Napa Valley, California

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.

Inky in color with a short reddish rim.

Pretty nose of cedar and black fruits, with tobacco and chocolate notes.

Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with blackberries, black currants, cooked plums, cedar, tobacco leaf, light earth, chocolates, spices, peppercorn, coffee, cola and licorice.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.

This 7 year old Napa Cabernet is already drinking beautifully. Smooth and elegant. Spicy and entertaining. Rich, complex and extracted.

Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years. Has great potential to become a 96 point wine.

This Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is nicely balanced, soft and engaging.

Wine Enthusiasts 94 points.

Good by itself as a sipping wine, and will also pair nicely with barbecue meats.

Grapes were aged in (85% new) French Oak barrels for 23 months.

14.9% alcohol by volume.

93 points.

$225.

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.

Inky in color with a short reddish rim.

Strong and very aromatic nose of violets, blackberries, stewed plums, sweet cherries, cedar, toast, light vanilla, spices, dark chocolates, licorice, coffee, peppercorn, light cola and sweet tobacco.

Full-bodied and creamy with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate and very fruity with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, dried figs, cedar, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco, peppercorn, espresso, dark chocolates, light earth, herbs and spices.

Long long finish with fine grained tannins, cherries and raspberries.

This 4 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley is already gorgeous. Showing great complexity with a soft mouthfeel. Elegant and fruit forward. Nicely balanced and engaging.

Good right out of the bottle, but so much better after 3 hours in the decanter.

Still young and will continue to age nicely in the next 20 years.

Very complex already, and very entertaining. Powerful and velvety.

Showing a surprisingly beautiful nose already, especially considering its young age.

I've had a few vintages of this wine and it is very consistent. So far, my favorite vintage of it was the 2016.

A fabulous sipping wine that will also pair nicely with a big piece of steak.

A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and 20% Cabernet Franc. Aged in French oak barrels for 20 months. A small production of less than 1,500 bottles.

14.9% alcohol by volume.

#AgedWineTuesday Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish/ brick rim. Light nose and medium plus in body with medium acidity. Dry on the palate with nice complexity and mouthfeel. Showing raspberries, cherries, plums, mediterranean spices, chocolates, earth, herbs, light forest floor and peppercorn. Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries. This is a very tasty GSM blend from Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Spicy and entertaining. Rich and fruit forward with light earth notes. Nicely balanced, and easy drinking right out of the bottle. The alcohol is nicely integrated by now. This 14 year old is still tasting very fresh on the palate. Nicely aged, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 to 7 years. Interesting, and good by itself or with food. A blend of equal parts of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah. Aged in large French oak barrels. A tiny production of around 1,000 bottles. 14.5% alcohol by volume. 91 points. $175.

Bond Melbury 2016, Napa Valley, California

Happy 4th! It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.

Deep inky in color with a short reddish rim.

Fruity on the nose and full bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity and a soft mouthfeel.

Showing black fruits with cedar, chocolates, vanilla, herbs, tobacco, chocolates, spices and black pepper.

Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.

This beautiful 9 year old Napa Bordeaux blend is still young, but already drinking wonderfully. Elegant and rich. Fruit forward and complex.

Good right out of the bottle, and better after 3 hours in the decanter.

This Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon will continue to age nicely in the next 25 years. Showing great potential to become a 97+ point wine. Would be nice to revisit it in 6 years.

A gorgeous sipping wine that will also pair nicely with a big piece of steak.

A blend of mostly Cabernet Sauvignon grapes with Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.

14.8% alcohol by volume.

Five of my favorite wine bottles/labels are on a wooden shelf. Going left to right:

1. Envidiacochina (a Spanish Albarino). I liked this one because the bottle shape is an oval, and I also liked the label.
2. Papillon by Orin Swift. Bottle is autographed by Dave Phinney
3. Saarloos + Sons, Santa Ynez Valley. I liked all the calligraphy on the label, and it's autographed by the vintner.
4. An Italian wine. I liked the shape of the bottle which is asymmetrical.
5. German wine Tegernseerhof. I liked the shape of the bottle and the label design.

Château Golan Cabernet Sauvignon 2021, Israel

It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.

Inky in color with a reddish rim.

Fruity nose with black fruits, wood, earth, spices, tobacco, vegetables, coffee, herbs and chocolates.

Full-bodied with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cooked cherries, light oak, spices, chocolates, licorice, coffee, light vanilla, tobacco leaf, herbs, peppercorn, earth and black tea.

Long finish with round tannins and tangy raspberries.

This is a delicious Cabernet Sauvignon based Bordeaux blend from Israel. Rich and extracted. Fruit forward and elegant.

Complex and well structured with good balance. Feels like a very rich Left Bank Bordeaux.

I've had a few vintages of this wine, and it is very consistent.

This 4 year old Cabernet is still young but already Complex, and will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years.

Needs a couple of hours to open up properly, and bring out the complexity and structure, but good right out of the bottle too.

A great sipping wine that will also pair nicely with a big piece of steak.

A blend of 86% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Cabernet Franc, 3% Syrah and 2% Petite Sirah.

14% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$50.
