“What difference what that have made? It don’t change what you agreed to do.” “Alice, I told you! I didn’t do it! I still have all of yo’ documents — actually, there is suttin’ you need to see, it’s in the trunk, let me just go —” “Don’t move a fuckin’ muscle.” She snarled, as I tried to turn around to go to the trunk. “Do you want to die faster?” I froze in place, and my breathing picked up again, afraid of what she might do next. Alice wasn’t listening to me. I suppose I can’t expect her to want to listen, because in her mind, I betrayed her. Had it been the other way around, I doubt I would have listened to her either. It’s human nature. I just wish humans didn’t work that way by default, I wish there was more room for reason when the mind is clouded with anger and hurt. I never meant to hurt her, and I desperately wanted her to see that I was on her side. I was — and I am always on her side, even when I shouldn’t be, even when I don’t defend her. That won’t ever change.
Didn't like the one from my newer project, so I went back to TDOA. I also realized that the snippets from TDOA should have a blue highlight instead of a green one :)

“It’s fine, Taylor.” Alice said. “I would do anythin’ to live wit’ my sista again. So, he could live wit’ us, or nearby. Whatever he comfortable wit’.” I frowned. “You have a sister?” Alice’s eyes widened. She said a little too much, but there was no going back now. “Y — yeah. Yeah, I do — well, I did. She’s… dead.” “Oh…” I sighed. “I’m sorry, Alice.” “It’s okay.” Alice sighed. “She was always… a lot more free than I was. Sure, our livin’ situation was shit, but she always had faith it would get better. Yet, somehow, she the one who got sick and died, and I was the one left, even though Ion deserve it.”

I went to sleep relatively easily, but Alice was wide awake. She felt like she had been bewitched by me, that I somehow put a spell on her to make her want me, and distract her from her plan and her pain. She knew that was ridiculous, as I had no idea how to do magic, and had no idea about her plan, but then why else couldn’t she stay on task?
Didn't have "career", so I used "task."

The dog pants after running around in circles to chase his tail, then darts across the field. Now the owner must chase him down, because of course, the dog was off his leash. He too pants from the chase. I think the owner should exercise more.

Since a young alien girl was neglected in most of my series, I just sent a short story where a human male MC goes from the cocky pilot to girl dad in nothing flat. My first reader approves. One regret I've always had is I never got to be a girl dad.
