Excellent piece for today's Rat Bag Lit. Practically a haiku, it's so short, but damn it's a powerful one.

Submitted to #FuriousFiction for the first time tonight!
Mainly because I should be writing my round two rhyming piece for #NYCMidnight. Nothing says do X when you're on deadline for Y, amirite?

Submitted not one, but two flash fiction pieces on deadline tonight, one a 250-word nano for @writingbattle.bsky.social; the other a 1,000 round-two noir ghost story for @nycmidnight.bsky.social.
Good times!

Pumped that my historical fiction about the 1941 German invasion of Crete, "Blood & Olives", has advanced to round two of the NYC Midnight Flash Fiction Challenge.
Now if I could just manifest this sort of creative energy for the next chapter of my novel...

I went hard on my novel in April—got 20,000 words and an outline sketched out. Between work, family, exhaustion, and a litany of Oxford-comma-related excuses, I haven't done more than a few dialogue edits since.
That manuscript is just sitting in the corner of my screen, taunting me. #WriteDammit
Frame 1 - One being leans into the first frame: "Why are you in distress" The second being is staring at their computer with sad eyes. A hot cup of coffee sits beside them: "I am creating a fictional narrative." Frame 2 - Being 1: "How is it progressing?" Being 2: "Minimally." They cradle the cup of coffee. Frame 3 - Being 2: "But I reviewed my progress and I despise it." They pick up their coffee. Being 1: "Oh." Frame 4 - Being 1: "Is this substandard or routine" Being 2: "Yes." They take a sip. Their eyes look slightly less sad.
This very succinctly sums up today's progress on my novel.
