Once a week give your writing space a brief clean. Dust. Put stuff away. Clear off room near your keyboard. Try to make it a habit. You want room around yourself sort of like creative space. You don't want to have numerous distractions for your resting gaze.

I had a great writing day yesterday, thanks to the one-hour silent discipline of @jerichowriters.bsky.social #WritingRoom. Such days have been rare while I've been working on getting Apples in the Dark ready for publication. And typing with my wrist in a splint, but that's speeding up. Progress!
That‘s an old picture by the way. Meanwhile that #writingroom thing is my desk in the bedroom, between child‘s bed and wardrobe. And I still refer to it as my 'study'. 🤷🏻♂️
Does it really surprise that those earning a living w/ writing have a #writingroom? It may be just a corner in corridor or hallway, but still is 'office' or 'study' to us.
And know what? Even if @jk_rowling decides to have a whole 'writing house' - it‘s nothing but her business.
