This bug doesn't affect Swift files, unfortunately otherwise I doubt it would have gotten through to release build status. It would be surprising to me that a "flipped bit" is causing this issue.

This bug also impacts Xcode 26.0 Beta.

The weird and non-SwiftUI ways we're supposed to create Launch Screens on iOS is irritating at this point, considering that we've had SwiftUI for over 5 years.

I would be very happy to see a new SwiftUI-based way to create them instead of... Storyboards. 🤢

It strangely feels like this could be the future of coding: Having a conversation with your IDE about the thing that you want to create, and instructing the tool to build it the way that you want.

If it's not quite right, you tell the tool, and it updates it.

Using ChatGPT and Xcode 16 with predictive code completion is kind of eerie-feeling, but also feels like you have some strange coding superpower.

It's not perfect, but it gets the job done, and turns out it's kind of fun.
