"At least one TCAS resolution advisory was triggered per month due to proximity to a helicopter. In over half of these instances, the helicopter may have been above the route altitude restriction. Two-thirds of the events occurred at night."

Das NTSB empfiehlt die Schließung der Hubschrauberroute 4 über den Potomac. Die Route hatte #PAT25 genutzt, als er mit #AA5342 kollidierte. Zwischen Okt 21 und Dez 24 war es zwischen dieser Route und dem Anflug auf Bahn 33 des Ronald Reagan Airport zu über 15000 Abstandsunterschreitungen gekommen.
