Awww, Jack Kornfield has been doing some dharma talks lately about the Imaginal Cells of the caterpillar that are the ones that believe they can fly, when it gets all liquefied into goo in the cocoon before becoming a 🦋, and as we know #anicca, impermanance, is the only constant. Maybe there's hope.

I might not actually say nor think anything other than 👇, 'these days'; & if still breathing, if inhale, if exhale,... ... ... if inhale,... if exhale,... ... "Am still here!", is about the only place any can "Start.", much less to "Continue", to "Continue The Experiment", eh?✊🙏

I miss doing yoga🧘. Haven’t been in a class in years & it was such a huge part of my life for so long & now we can barely bend over & palm ✋ the ground or lift our arms overhead. #anicca Everything changes #dukkha It’s all dissatisfactory #anatta It’s all non-self, which always leads me to Nihilism.

In #Buddhism, #avidyā (ignorance) is framed not as lack of knowledge but as misperception of #impermanence ( #anicca), non-self ( #anatta) and causality. Overcoming avidyā requires transformative insight rather than intellectual learning. Here's a brief overview:
Didj’all miss me? #Prajñā or #wisdom in #Buddhism is understood as experiential insight into impermanence/ #anicca, non-self/ #anatta and emptiness/ #śūnyatā. Cultivated through study, reflection and #meditation, it is paired with #compassion and central to the #NobleEightfoldPath. Here‘s a brief overview:
#DependentOrigination (paṭicca-samuppāda) in #Buddhism explains phenomena as arising through interdependent conditions. Through the twelve links ( #nidanas) it analyzes the origin of #suffering and its cessation, highlighting impermanence ( #anicca) and #nonself ( #anatta). Here‘s a brief overview.

The kanji 没蹤跡, which reads mosshōseki in Japanese, literally means “leave no trace behind”. The first character, 没 (motsu), means “to leave” or “to pass away”. The second character, 蹤跡 (shōseki), means “trace” or “footprint”. Together, they convey the idea of acting in a way that does not leave behind any marks or residues of attachment. In Zen, this principle is often illustrated through the metaphor of a bird flying through the sky or a fish swimming in water, both of which leave no trace of their passage.
#Mosshōseki (没蹤跡) in #Zen #Buddhism expresses the ideal of acting without leaving traces of attachment or self-reference. Rooted in non-attachment and impermanence (#anicca), it advocates a #MiddleWay: engaging fully in life while letting go of outcomes […]

The kanji 不動心, which reads fudōshin in Japanese, literally means “immovable mind”. The first character, 不 (fu), means “not” or “non-“. The second character, 動 (dō), means “move”. The third character, 心 (shin), means “mind” or “heart-mind”. Together, they convey the idea of a state of mind that is not moved or disturbed by external circumstances.
#Fudōshin (不動心), the "immovable mind", is a central #Zen concept denoting inner stability and #equanimity amid change. Rooted in Buddhist teachings on #impermanence (#anicca) and non-self (#anatta), it embodies resilience not through suppression, but through […]

The kanji 身心脱落, which reads shinjin datsuraku in Japanese, literally means “dropping off body and mind”. The first character, shin (身), refers to the body or physical form. The second character, jin (心), means mind or heart. The third character, datsu (脱), indicates shedding or casting off. The final character, raku (落), means to fall or drop. Together, they convey the idea of a complete letting go of both bodily self-attachment and mental clinging.
#ShinjinDatsuraku ("dropping off body and mind") is a pivotal #Zen concept expressing the experiential release of self-attachment and dualistic identification. Central to #Dōgen's teaching, it reflects the Buddhist insight into non-self (#anatta) and […]

The gankyil (Tibetan) or “wheel of joy” (Sanskrit: ānanda-cakra) is a symbol and ritual tool used in Tibetan and East Asian Buddhism. It consists of three whirling and interconnected blades. It often constitutes the wheel hub in the Dharma Wheel (dharmachakra), symbolizing the Three Marks of Existence: impermanence (anicca), suffering (dukkha), and non-self (anatta). The #ThreeMarksOfExistence — #impermanence (#anicca), #suffering (#dukkha), and #nonself (#anatta) — are central to #Buddhism and reveal the nature of reality and roots of suffering:

The highlight of my week now for 11 yrs running. How sad 😔 is that?! That's what happens when you get old & your Complex PTSD & your undiagnosed autism & your split selves start bursting the seams of your sanity, when you thought you were just a guy who maybe drank 🍸 funny.
