Like here! Did you know that BlueSky tweets are called bleets? Like a goat bleats, a Tweeter tweets, and a BlueSkier bleets! It's cute. Versus sk**ts, which is disgusting and crass and awful. We can do and be better! Also, follow the link in our bio to Medium and go read our piece exhorting people to call BlueSky tweets bleets. If you cannot see this goat I've selected to represent this argument/promposition, that's really a shame, because it's got a striking yellow background, it's shock-white, and it's got it's adorable little baby-goat mouth wide open yelling it's fool head off, clearly, and it's eyes are wide open (green) and it's ears are, like, pricked up like it's getting after it. What actually physically, structurally happens to my heart when I watch Julia Warner OMG I JUST FOUND OUT SHE'S MARRIED TO DAVID CORENSWET. Get this. Get this. This is fucking wild. David Corenswet has played the onscreen love-interest/boyfriend/husband-to-be of the Arguable 1st or 2nd most intense filmic crush of my life, and btw these are it: it's Gunn's / Rachel Brosnahan's Lois Lane in Superman (2025) and Julia Warner's Michelle Brock in Tommy Boy (1995), and Corenswet is married Warner. WILD Convergence. You can bet it'll come up in our Medium story.
THIS LINE HITS SO HARD. It did when I was 11 or 12, and it does now. She's impossible not to fall for. I dare you to even try not to fall for Michelle Brock. She's INCREDIBLE, and she's super-well-written, like everything in this movie is, but it's largely down to this performance from Warner, which I'd say has definite shades of Jeanine Garofalo's energy/vibe, but is also something totally her own and special. Again, my reaction when first seeing this was: Are there really women like that out there? And guys, let me tell you, there were and are!
Tommy is so charmed by her, as well. "What a LOSER he is!" As previously bleeted, he is a generous laugher and person, which btw, Farley himself also notoriously was. I'd argue that it helps imbue Tommy Callahan with some of that irrepressible, frantic, Like-Me, Pick-Me energy that everyone who came into Farley's orbit has said that he had (I think it's Jay Mohr who describes him as "the Sun," in Gasping for Airtime, though take it with a grain of salt, because Jay Mohr claims to know everyone way better than they claim to know Jay Mohr, lol)
Now's as good a time as any to say (& this is broadly always true of our #bleets), if you're not reading the #alttext, you're REALLY missing out. It's where we have the most room to really get into it, especially when #screenshots or #images are attached, such as give us alttexttunities 🤓
