NEW: Several people have reported assaults in the Bosque area recently and detectives believe the incidents may be related.
Investigators with the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office are warning people to "remain alert and report any suspicious activity."
Here is a breakdown of what happened from BCSO:
• February 2, 2026: An offender pointed what was believed to be a firearm at a victim, pushed the victim to the ground, and cut the victim's pants in the groin area. The victim did not suffer any injuries. The offender was described as wearing all black clothing, a black face mask, black gloves, and black goggles.
• March 1, 2026: An offender attacked a male victim with a box cutter. The victim sustained minor injuries. The offender was described as wearing all black.
• March 8, 2026: A female riding her horse was approached by an offender holding a knife and threatening to stab the horse. No injuries were reported. The offender was described as wearing a black hoodie, blue pants, and believed to be approximately 30 years old.
Deputies say all of these incidents reportedly occurred on the west side of the Rio Grande, north of Alameda. The suspect description across the incidents is similar.
The Bernalillo County Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in this area, or who may have information about a person matching this description, to contact BCSO:

Residents using the Bosque trails are encouraged to remain aware of their surroundings and report any suspicious activity immediately.
