I took myself off for my fiftieth as… well I just couldn't face it. Stayed in #rothseay for a couple of days. The day before my birthday I took a trip to Ettrick Bay, where this shot was taken.

The ruins of St Blane's Church near the southern end of the Isle of Bute. The image shows a path leading slightly uphill in the bottom right of the frame, cut into the ground and flanked by stone walls and then climbing steps. We are looking up to the long side of the ruined church on the skyline, with two standing gables. There are gravestones in the lower left of the frame lying flat on the ground, The scene is in sunlight.
The surprisingly extensive ruins of St Blane's Church near the southern end of the Isle of Bute. The church fell into disuse after the Reformation and most of the remains of the nave and the chancel you see today date back to the 1100s. More pics and info: www.undiscoveredscot...
