A blue electric locomotive with a small yellow rectangle on the front, white cab roof and white windscreen surrounds hauls ten coaches in a mixture of colours through a railway station. The side of the loco has a metal British Railways crest, featuring a lion holding a wheel. There is a small red name plate on the side with the words "Les Ross" inscribed on it. The opposite side features a similar sized name plate with the words "Peter Pan" inscribed on it.

The majority of the coaches (seven of them) are blue and white, with the remaining three being brown.

Both of these routes are set during the 1980s (specifically 1986) and come with plenty of old school rolling stock.

Morning everyone. The wonderful West Coast Main Line terminus of Glasgow Central. Time to jump on board rail blue 86224 ‘Caledonian’ for the journey south. Have a great day, whatever you have planned. 👍

In September 2022, to cope with additional travellers for the Queen's funeral, additional trains were run with BR #class86 locomotives. It was an excellent display of collaborative #railway decision making. Here are a few photos of 86401, still displaying the Caledonian Sleeper livery.

The corporate colours of British Rail looking amazing on the this class 86. The bare cab front end, with no additional jumper cables, and lack of headlight just gives it such a clean and uncluttered appearance.

Those winter trips to Carlisle stick in my mind for so many reasons, but primarily for how cold they were! Happy days all the same, with great sights and sounds, like this mixed bag of liveries!

86242 ‘James Kennedy G.C.’ approaches Carlisle with a cross country service for Scotland. Just looking at this shot reminds of the sound of the loco and those Mk2s braking into the platform. The loco was exported to Hungary in 2013.

Intercity liveried Class 86 86250 (complete with early tiny numbers) with two classmates at Euston in the late 80s. I believe this unit is still extant in Hungary. #Class86 #Intercity #Euston
