Photograph taken of the door to the Durbar Room at Osborne House on the Isle of Wight, designed by Bhai Ram Singh, late C19th architect and designer from the Punjab. Section of a rich wood door inlaid with intricately patterned plaster and finished with a very fancy gilded bird of paradise. Absolutely beautiful but bet it's a right dust collector!

Here is a combination garment from V&A museum 1810. A white garment in one piece that is a vest and knickers with long legs. It’s on a tailor’s dummy. The knickers come down to the knees and are frilled from there. It’s a loose fit and slightly waisted. Scoop neck with trim. I’d wear it!!

Watching Bookish which is well worth a watch, they used a word I’ve not heard in years.

Meaning ladies undergarments.
I remember my Nain (Granny) used to say not to go out the front door in your combinations!! 😂 As if?
