I painted this nearly 30 years ago. Was I prescient? The red stripes look like a wooden fence and there is barbed wire (enlarge the photo and you can see). The 50 stars are klan hoods. I posted it on Facebook and Instagram and got very few “likes”. Perhaps too controversial.
