A greyish looking bird, in profile, with strongly patterned upper, and light grey underbelly. It’s sitting on gently curved branch in a dead tree and there is a section at the broken end of the branch that is covered in a green lichen.

Introducing the Violet Cuckoo, one of the most unique birds we’ve ever seen. This colourful bird is spread across Asia, but it isn’t that easy to find, and we’ve only seen it once in Bangkok since we moved here around 6 months ago.
