The only issue with #DieHard2 is the lack of jokes. By this point Willis had a bit of clout and didn't want a wisecracking McClane. By Die Hard 5 any trace of the Nakatomi tower character is long buried.

It’s not the original film but it’s not too shabby of a Christmas action movie either as John McClane is still closer to an ordinary hero in over his head with a few too many quips for most of the sequel until it drifts into over the top.
