The bundled #GnomeDesktopEnvironment, #Mutter #WindowManager, and #GDM #DisplayManager all appear to be 1-2 year old versions of the #software. The server performance with 280M Memory Usage, 0 CPU Load, and 1.8G Disk Usage, and 11 second reboot time are not the best.
The #Desktop #OperatingSystem #Benchmark Tier List has been updated on everybytecounts.org for December 2024 dates. Notably #TinyDM #DisplayManager used by #PostMarketOS, doesn't appear to have any updates in the repository for a year.
Unfortunately both Mint and NixOS use the #LightDM #DisplayManager which Canonical abandoned 2 years ago. 617MB Memory Usage, 0.68 CPU Load, 7.1GB Disk Usage and 20 second Reboot time are all poor performance metrics compared to other options. Support this project at liberapay.com/craft/donate.
A new video youtu.be/2lzoz03s8FQ on #Budgie 10.9.1 #DesktopEnvironment on #NixOS 24.05 #Linux Performance Benchmark Comparison is Ranked 32nd on the everybytecounts.org #TierList. NixOS 24.05 uses the #LightDM #DisplayManager which was abandoned by the #developer Canonical 2.3 years ago.
499M of Memory Usage and 0.40 CPU Load is not the worse. 6.3G of Disk Usage is poor. NixOS defaults LightDM #DisplayManager, which Canonical abandoned 2.3 years ago. Support this project with liberapay.com/craft/donate
