For example," he began to pace, "for earth, we could scrape a bit of mud from Faerun off our boots, but that wouldn't be enough, and it also is likely to be contaminated with the earth of this world" he turned toward the group with a wry smile, looking more like a professor than a wizard at the moment.
Karlach eyed the older hunter, noticing his impatience growing. She leaned toward him,

"Well, then he must be ecstatic," Dean grumbled. Karlach snorted in response, causing
Gale to blink in her direction with a cocked eyebrow.
"If the aether has to be from where y'all aim to go," Bethany chimed in, "how did that
Gygax fella get it?"
Sam shrugged, "We couldn't figure that bit out. It's sort of a chicken-and-egg situation;
honestly, though, it makes no sense.”
Somewhere far away, Chuck snickered.
