# **Subject: Please Help Save Gambit – Our Family Needs Him**
Hi everyone,
I’m reaching out today because my heart is breaking, and we desperately need your kindness. Our beloved Gambit, my 10-year-old Australian Shepherd, my shadow and best friend, is facing a terrifying challenge. A large, baseball-sized mass on his chest is making it painful for him to walk, stealing the joy from his movements, and6 making even simple things like climbing stairs a struggle. **He urgently needs surgery** to remove it.
Even with this burden, Gambit’s incredible spirit shines through. He still tries to greet me with his favorite tug rope, chase
after a ball with puppy-like hope, or gleefully destroy his newest stuffed toy. Seeing him try so hard, while knowing the pain he must be in, is incredibly difficult. This mass is dimming the light in his eyes, day by day.
Our vet at Dundee Veterinary Clinic has confirmed the need for surgery, with costs for everything involved estimated between $1,340 and $1,630. To ensure we can cover the transaction fees GoFundMe deducts and have a small safety net for anything unexpected during his recovery, **we are setting our fundraising goal at $1,800.**

When he was younger, his seizures became terrifyingly frequent and severe. Through every single episode, I held him close, sometimes for hours, whispering to him until the danger passed. That shared struggle, facing fear together, **forged an unbreakable bond between the two of us.** Thankfully, medication has kept him seizure-free for 5 precious years, and that deep connection is stronger than ever. He’s my survivor, my brave boy.
Asking for help like this is incredibly hard, but we find ourselves in a situation where we simply can't manage this cost alone. As Gambit's dad, I've been grounded by my own health battles – fac…
