We’re very happy because our model for early printed text (gothic typeface) can develope abbr. without hesitation, although we were told that #eScriptorium can do it. We found that there’re 3 to 5 wrong words in every page, but mistakes include wrong spacing due to wider o narrower letter separation

As from today,#7PartidasDigital project comes to its end. It’s was born 11 years ago, when I came across a bunch of ms. fragments. We’ve raised the list of known copies from 80 up to over 100. We’ve located stolen mss. We’ve learnt to use HTR, even built our own #eScriptorium server.

This is amazing, I can even correct #eScriptorium transcribed text from a tablet. It’s great to have our own server at @uva-es.bsky.social . Still fine tuning it. #python and its environments are a little messy.

En un laboratorio informático, varios puestos están ocupados y se ven las pantallas con la interfaz de eScriptorium visible. Al fondo hay una proyección de una diapositiva con cómo se usa la interfaz.

Pasamos al taller práctico de #eScriptorium con algunos criterios básicos de uso y aplicación. Yo veo bastante intuitiva la interfaz para refinar la segmentación. #CLARIAH-CM

En #eScriptorium el factor lingüístico es menor (con este modelo). Reconoce secuencias de letras en las lenguas romances pero es relativamente aplicable a lenguas diferentes porque se basa en el reconocimiento estadístico de formas. También por esto renuncia al desarrollo de abreviaturas #CLARIAH-CM

Muy interesante la observación de Matthias Gille Levenson en su taller de #eScriptorium: no es (estadísticamente) posible llegar al 100% de precisión. Para una edición va a ser siempre necesario leer y corregir. Y toda edición implica interpretación (y decisiones editoriales).

Our instance of #eScriptorium is doing a fine job. We uploaded CATMUS model, and fed to a early 15c Castilian (SP) ms and did a fantastic job. However, we’re experiencing some problems to fine tune the training section. Documentation on how to set it up is scarce. 🆘

Well, the first @uva-es.bsky.social #eScriptorium training is “running”. It is a model for Spanish Gothic Printing using the very same criteria we did in @transkribus.bsky.social so we can compare results. We will be reporting shortly, as soon as it’s finished. #FilologíaDigital_UVa
