Showing information related to Venezuela Second largest oil country in world, with 1,100,000 bbl. daily production, and still increasing, with, potential production and reserves promising much greater things. Laws on concession retention resulting in unusually high proportion wildcat testing and all other phases exploration activity. About 70 per cent present production in Western Venezuela, but eastern portion coming up rapidly. Present refining capacity 124,000 bbl., additional 165,000 bbl. under way. Bulk of crude exported, large amounts to adjacent islands of Aruba and Curacao, where refining capacity is 560,000 bbl. daily. Present production from about 2,100 flowing and 2,800 pumping wells in 37 active fields. About 700,000 bbl. daily from wells is less than 3,500 ft. deep; 200,000 bbl. from wells is 3,500-5,000 ft. in depth. Creole Petroleum Corp. production of about 600,000 bbl. daily makes it world's largest single producing company.
