Scorch, a lanky anthro bug like creature resembling Grimm from Hollow Knight, is upside down on the canvas. a drawing of scorch and one of my other grimmkin, fury, who is biologically his (half?) sibling. fury, with a little bit of black head floof, a dusty-red ribbon around his horn, and a cone-collar grey and red cloak latched with a fury of the fallen charm, glares somewhere offscreen with a magenta pupil while brandishing his grey sword glowing with embers. the sword has triangular and circular holes spread about to reduce weight but keep structure intact, and there's a small fork about midway down the curved blade. behind him, scorch stands with his harms behind his back, tilting his head directly back to stare at fury. he has thick head fluff, swirly eyes in 2 shades of pinkish, bright red neck fur, grey bat-like wings, and a black-to-red fluffy tail that swirls around and frames fury. clothing-wise, he wears a black turtleneck vest that buttons in the back to accommodate for his wings, a white undershirt with a purple orchid embroidered on the right shoulder, black shorts, and purpley-magenta fishnet stockings. red text in the foreground, shaded darker at the top and implied to be scorch's words, says "brother, i know your pain... please... the final drawing, day 31, aftermath (notated with an X border and a happy "belated" halloween with 2 exclamation points). scorch in a blue cropped tanktop, black shorts, and dark leather paw guards is supporting orchid while slowly trying to walk. orchid has one arm over scorch's shoulders, limping along in his classic blue hoodie with magenta-grizzled black fur lining, grey turtleneck, blue-grey pants, and black boots, and he looks at the worried scorch almost apologetically with blood dripping from his mouth. both look pretty beat up, not too badly but still concerningly, implying they've been through some unwanted scuffle.

the alternative route, with the two in costumes from last year (orchid is an angel with the magenta collar fluff, scorch is a devil with a red horn headband and a demon tail taped to his own). orchid is sitting on a concrete ledge, actually passing out candy, while scorch very proudly holds a bag and two bars of abandoned candy from his successful scares. they're very happy, for once.

day 27, parasite. in the background, scorch is on all fours, shaking and clearly a little disoriented as a trail of scarlet substance trails from just below his head to the foreground. a slimy silhouette thats very visually similar to scorch is posed with one hand on its hip and a little mlem, unfazed by the scene behind it - it's dissonance, for anyone wondering.

scorch as a semi-modern slasher villain for day 28, with a back right 1/4 view. he carries 2 bloodstained axes, dons a purple cropped tanktop over a bloody white t-shirt and grey shorts, and he wears a pale reddish mask with 3 vertical oval slits where each eye should be. even without the face, it can be felt he has little remorse or general emotion about any of this.

day 29 is bones, with another long-awaited cameo from orchid. said skeleton is pinned on the ground by one of scorch's paws, which he's trying to keep from pressing too hard into his chest by grasping; he's wearing a green crop top and black pants with shiny black boots, and is crying and terrified as he looks up at scorch. aforementioned bug is glaring darkly at the skele, but is clearly not himself. donned with a yellow tanktop, black shorts, his magic reddish sword, a metal collar with a little light on it, and holding one of orchid's ribs, this is not scorch. the scientists got him. purple text in the background says "PLEASE SCORCH HONEY NO PLEASE IT-IT'S ME MY INFERNO PLEASE WHAT ARE YOU DOING I KNOW YOU'RE STILL YOU SOMEWHERE IN THERE PLEASE" but, in front of that in red glitchy text, all the bug says is "THE FIRST WEAPON MUST BE KILLED."

day 30, sharp objects, is very casual in comparison to the rest. scorch (i think werewolf flavor) is sat cross-legged on the ground against a dark green background, his head circled by a pale rainbow pattern of sharpened bones, pulled teeth, and dismembered claws. he's draped in a lighter green cloak which, being an alternate version, lets the long and thin spikes on his back poke through. there's a red spiked flail under his tail, a red knife balancing tip-down on his finger, and a sharp purple pendulum hanging from the blade-tip of a red scythe behind him.

a mostly greyscale marker drawing for day 23, self-inflicted. orchid sits on the ground with his back to scorch - his eyes are scribbled out, blood dripping from his mouth, wings are freshly cut off (and can be seen near the bottom), and he's circled by blood ad medicine bottles in red. scorch stands behind him, the grey vignette around orchid causing him to blend into the background a bit, one hand to his chest as he very anxiously reaches towards the skeleton. and, the cherry on top, he doesn't know what to do except run away the moment orchid notices him.

day 24, asphyxiation, is also primarily marker. scorch, outlined but not colored in, is kneeling in front view with a purple-ish pillow held tightly up to his face. the background is a purple gradient, and black/red-to-purple text above the bug reads "it still smells like HIM." with "him" being emphasized and underlined.

day 25, skinned, is a top view drawing of what scorch would look like were his cat form turned into a peddler's pelt - even the #25 is drawn to resemble a leather tag. inspired by my then-recent visit to the ren faire.

a very stylistically angular scorch in a polygonal birdcage, seeming to be in immense distress and barely able to fit in the confines of this space. it id all in various shades of red, and there's a purple flower as the top hook of the cage. the text is no less angular.

a very simple colored drawing for day 5, too much blood. a dark silhouette of Scorch against a dark grey background sits in a pool of glowing scarlet blood, the color reflecting off of him and fully obscuring any actual color underneath. a glow also emanates from the handle of a knife the viewer can just barely see him holding. || more lore stuff, also from the extremely depressing scratch roleplay years. on a night where Orchid killed Sonnet, his brother, he came back into. whatever building it was. to see Scorch exactly like this, bleeding a bit too much for a twig like him. Orchid then proceeded to give Scorch his jacket and then leave for a week, which was a very long week, and both then and after the 'break' he was very numb. i can't say this helped Scorch's abandonment issues, it definitely kickstarted them, though :3

a lined and pencil-shaded image of scorch's open torso for day 6, internal organs. i was going for sort of a 50s ish like, medical diagram, with the dissected body and flaps of skin pinned down and all that. the heart, a rib, the intestines, and some random other organ are labelled in letters in blue, the #6 is written on a tag connected to the ropes holding his limbs together, and "internal organs" is written in blue on his thigh. honestly, i think you could blame Orchid's scientists for this one - they really wanted to find out what makes this anomaly function, resulting in the worst gore drawing i've done in a minute (internal organs make me a lil squeamish). curiosity really did kill the cat here.

a black-outline drawing of Renner, my humanoid rabbit guy, for day 7, amputation. he's slumped over slightly, staring at the viewer with very simple but very tired half-circle eyes, and his right arm is cut off about halfway up the upper arm; instead of leaking blood, there's glitchy angelic eyes, a wing, and a halo coming out, cuz his limb got cut off by a blonde prestigious one. using line weight, it is indicated that his eyes are glowing, probably white - there are no line details for his face or the top of the turtleneck collar, but everything else is visible. his hair is messy, his ears are a bit flopped, he's wearing a sleeveless turtleneck, and his pants are a bit too long with his boots just barely peeking out from under them. also, yes, he has a rabbit tai.

a duochrome drawing for day 8, cannibalism. a simplistic, almost silhouette image of Scorch (red) is being bitten into messily by Dissonance (pink), who has X eyes and bloody teeth. Scorch is screaming as the flesh is taken from his neck, with a mixture of tears and blood running down his face.

a Scorch silhouette comprised of mostly pencil for day 3, exposed brains. it seems to be very dark in the environment, with Scorch being no more than a vague shape. however, his upper teeth and right eye are clearly visible, as is the exposed grey matter where his left horn used to be - almost like someone tore it off, like breaking apart a cooked crustacean. run.

a (mostly) monochrome and thickly lined drawing of Scorchid for day 4, patched up. scorch, red, sits slumped over and looking at the ground almost guiltily while Orchid, purple, bandages his left eye from out of frame (only his hands are visible). Scorch weakly tries to stutter out, "I'm- I'm sor-" but his apology is cut off by a gentle yet firm hush from Orchid. || lore time - back during the quarantine roleplays, the origins of scorchid, there was a very short arc where Scorch clawed his eye real bad in attempt to get attention from an incredibly depressed and apathetic Orchid. at the time, he was honestly pretty out of it 24/7 now that I'm glimpsing over the threads again, and he was not thinking clearly enough to avoid this. it's still both a huge regret and a dreaded impulse today.

Scorch, a tall, lanky creature resembling a very fluffy and somewhat cat-like version of Grimm from hollow knight with grey bat wings, leans against a black and blue railing. He dons a black short-sleeved jacket, black pants, a black tie, red/black striped fingerless gloves, and brown zip-up foot covers, all of which are adorned with various silver spikes, chains, safety pins, and so on. He's looking off to the side, with something like a sneer but i dunno how to really explain it. A fullbody reference of Scorch, a felisect-grimmchild that looks a lot like his father (Grimm from Hollow Knight). He has mostly black chitin, with a light pinkish-red underbelly, black head fluff, bright red neck fluff, a tail that goes from black to red, and a white face. His eyes are light pink with dark pink spirals and pupils, and his wings are an optionally translucent grey. His (optional) paw pads are light, desaturated pink, and he has optional faded s/h scars. Scorch is 7 feet tall on the dot, he uses he/blaze pronouns, he's gay in a closed relationship, and he can be a menace but he has crippling anxiety and is struggling with loneliness. His flesh is dark desaturated pink, and his bones - yes, he has both bones and chitin - are off-white.

Okay so take Scorch, but make him half-scarlet on the left side, his eyes paler, his tail more red than black, his pawpads mottled, his belly edged with a more orangey-pink on top of the scarlet, aaaaaand add an optional light red gradient to the tops of his wings. No definitive name, they/them pronouns for simplicity, caused by Dissonance either fronting or co-fronting, is a menace and/or just extremely pissed off based on context, and they're fast n scary (moreso than usual).

Scorch, but solid scarlet with a pinkish face and solid white eyes and a fully goopy body. This is Dissonance (it/its), a goopy embodiment of the infection Scorch used to control (think the Radiance's infection, I will yap about how this works if asked). It was the insanity infection and still kinda is, and it's a total dick as a result but it sometimes knows its limits. And yes, somehow, it's pulled a hot tiefling wife, but it will flirt to be annoying.
