A pair of knitted mittens. They are knitted in black and cream yarn. They are worked in stranded colorwork; the pattern on the backs of the mittens is a scrolling abstract pattern, and on the front of the mittens there's a diamond-and-cross pattern.

I haven't done #finishedobjectfriday in a bit. Here is one of my latest FOs: Mittens from a kit my partner brought back from a visit to Norway years ago. The instructions were Norwegian so I had to work off just the chart, so this was hard! I knitted these for the #Ravellenics #knitting challenge ♥️

Finished Object Friday - a very large and heavy couch/bed cover I have been working on for about three years now. Bernat Yarnspirations extra-thick blanket yarn, in the color "Leather." Double and half double crochet. That is a three-seater couch in the pic, btw.

Today's #FinishedObjectFriday is a shawl from 2021. This pattern uses the mosaic technique, which was invented by Barbara Walker. Walker was a knitting genius who wrote scores of books in the 60s and 70s. I just heard today that she died.

A crocheted granny square blanket is spread out on a couch with some throw pillows. The blanket's squares are pink, gray, turquoise and yellow. The squares are bordered in white, and the whole blanket has a white crocheted scalloped border.

For #FinishedObjectFriday I'm sharing a blanket I started in the early 2000s, when I was struggling with a lot of big & heavy & terrible things.

I didn't finish it ... until 2021, 15 years later.

The lesson: You can keep going even when you think you can't ♥️ and you can survive hard things ♥️

A pair of socks that I hand-knit. They're a beautiful periwinkle purple color and they have a floral lacy pattern on the front of the sock.

Four hand-knitted socks are arranged neatly on an antique table. I knitted these pairs of socks this year.

So it's #finishedobjectfriday, and this week I am sharing four socks I knit this year from the Secret Sock Society (Helen Stewart of Curious Handmade) -- I love all of them! ♥️

A knitted toy dragon is sitting on a green wire hanging basket that’s upside down over a small fishpond in our garden. Wood fence, green leaves and a terracotta finial in the background. The toy is knitted to a great pattern called ‘Joris’ - by the terribly clever Annita Wilschut / Zij Maakt Het - on Ravelry. Knitted in one piece with lots of clever shaping - minimal stitching up. A perfect size - he sits in the hand so nicely … I just love Annita’s patterns. Joris has an aubergine shaped body, long limbs with hands & feet of cute ‘claws’, his face has a very ‘Roman’ profile and he has spiky ‘hair’. Creamy white knit neck warmer with scalloped bottom edge and three brown coconut shell buttons on the left side. It is made from angora blend yarn, the remaining ball rests on the top right corner along with rose gold 4mm knitting needles. 🧶

Alaska sweater, knitting pattern by Camille Descoteaux, in broen with white trees around the bottom in stranded color work. Shown with neck warmer made from leftover white angora blend yard.

Made a cowl with the leftover angora from Alaska sweater. No pattern- the pine tree stitch uses multiples of 16 +1, plus I added 6 garter stitches on each end for buttons & buttonholes. It’s soooo airy & soft!

The moss is all french knots and loops with the tops cut free.

The pendants are all around an inch/inch and a half across.
