Fireman memorial should be over by lake but ours is on the corner of our Legislative Mall area where the main time you can reflect on their service and sacrifice monument is after all the cars are gone after work. I love monuments to remember those who serve. My favorite of all time was the Kennedy Center as it was a living tribute to the creativity and joy that is possible because so many give their all in service. The lights on cupola change colors now from blue and red which is more purple. Various lighting colors are used. I think blue is for autism. Green and red at Christmas are always a favorite.

Parke Green Galleries is the only commercial artist-owned gallery in Dover. Well, actually, Iβm the only one. I know that is shocking, right?Dover is the capital of the First State and yet, somehow, we are the flyover city in the way from Wilmington to the beach. We try and try to promote our rich history. Caesar Rodney was one of the major proponents of the bicameral system as he wanted small states to have equality somewhere. Nothing came up for my #DelawareArtScene hashtag. The #firststate seems to be the #RodneyDangerfield of all states. We just get no respect. lol. My gallery is on most historic site in the country as it is where they ratified the US constitution and #Delaware jumped first at the chance to be Kingless! We see so many cultural tourists from all over the world and we stay open 7 days a week to try and help all our visitors who come from all over. So of youβre ever in Dover, especially during the 250 celebration, stop by. We will be open. I promise! You can get that shot glass, that postcard, that passport stamped, oland get directions to the best of what we have to offer. Happy New Year. Invest in some art this holiday season. Cheers!

Cursive writing must be taught to our kids. The value of cursive when it comes to early brain development is mind-boggling. We carry a terrific book in teaching cursive that and Iβm hoping to publish an old journal with sayings and poetry that they practiced all the calligraphic styles with.

Weβre on The Green in Dover and history abounds. We have a stamp, too, that we can stamp your passport books or any kind of collector type books or cards you have. Caesar Rodney was our equivalent of Benjamin Franklin and could have been in a famous poem if #Delaware had a poet like Longfellow. #History is not our bailiwick but Delaware is the #FirstState and not a city in Ohio or part of New England.
