I could have saved SwRI’s client a lot of money by showing them this 1968 NASA report⬇️: solubility of hydrogen in liquified natural gas (methane) is well below 1% (≈0.06% v/v).

So it is basically impossible to store economically-useful amounts of #hydrogen in #LNG.

Commercially-available processes:

#H2 via steam methane reforming #SMR natgas then liquifying the #GH2 with grid electricity to make #LH2

Grid electricity for liquid #O2 via (1) air separation #ASU then (2) liquifying the #GOX to make #LOX

Future renewable grids & #GreenHydrogen will be cleaner!
