There are sorts of surprises associated with Play-Doh. Invented in Cincinnati, OH, it was a modified version of a wall paper cleaner. Pay-doh was made popular by its appearance on the children's TV show Captain Kangaroo. www.markstrecker.com/invention-of... #histsci #histech #ohiohistory

Bikes in their modern form have existed since 1866, yet it wasn't until 1899 that someone in OH thought to make a padded seat. It made its inventor, Arthur Lovett Garford, millions with which he built his mansion, The Hickories. www.markstrecker.com/invention-of... #histsci #histech #ohiohistory

If it's a museum about history, I'll visit it even if it's not a topic I'm especially interested in. Case in point: while on a business trip, I came across the Mid-American Windmill Museum in IN. Here's what I found: www.markstrecker.com/mid-american.... #histsci #histech #TravelAddictsHistory

When you request an archival record on #EarlyModern armormaking, expecting the usual: pages & pages of (illegible) text, but on its opening pages find: depictions of the assemblage of armor and several individual screws 🔩 ❤️ It's good a day.
