All my grandparents served in #ww2. One was at the liberation of #bergenbelsen, and was never the same after that.
My great-uncle was killed in action in France, also #ww2. He was only 25.

Zojuist een bezoek gebracht aan Tyne Cot Cemetery. Eén van de meest indrukwekkende begraafplaatsen in de buurt van Ieper. Het is de laatste rustplaats voor bijna 12.000 gevallenen uit de Eerste Wereldoorlog #WWI
Hier vlakbij was de Derde Slag om Ieper.

On this date, 110 years ago, John McCrae wrote the poem #inflandersfields after presiding over the funeral of a friend and fellow soldier who died in the Second Battle of Ypres.
Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae (1872 - 1918) did not survive to return home at the end of the war.
