This Douglas Fir and Western Redcedar have inosculated, new word for me too, it is when 2 trees naturally graft together because of close proximity. That fusion has increased their now mutual footprint and stabilized them on the slope they call home. Lots of younger lonely single trees have fallen to the instability of this slope, but this couple has stood fast. Unfortunately these will likely fall someday too, but for now they are majestic to behold. I'm like 95% confident in the tree ID but if someone thinks they're a different species than I ID'd then please correct me.
