Looking across the mirrored finish of Convict Lake, with Mono Jim Peak (and Mt Morrison directly behind it). The still waters perfectly reflect the image as well as allow the gravel bottom to be seen through them. A small islet covered in snow sticks out into the middle of frame and there is also a log laying half submerged in the bottom of frame.

A layer of close by boulders followed by another large mound within the obsidian dome, with the jagged ridgeline of mountains seen in the distance.
A large chunk of obsidian shines among its smaller counterparts.
Standing atop a broken outcrop of volcanic rock, the loop trail on the top of Obsidian Dome may be seen wrapping a large mound.
Lichen grows on weathered volcanic rock boulders while behind it another large ridge of obsidian may be seen in front of a jagged ridgeline in the distance.

That's me next to a #bristlecone #pine. These trees are among the oldest trees in the world, and at least one of them is about 4,800 years old. This is in the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest in the White Mountains in #Inyo County in California, east of the Sierra Nevada.
