#typography lovers: some more #FascinatingFontFacts from my recent #HongKong visit. Not only are the double-decker #trams unique (I think) outside #Blackpool and #Alexandria, but check out the vehicle number typeface: a fair representation of #London’s #Johnston lettering. Handpainted too it seems.

Explaining my design choices: Hat - tried to find the hat that Captain Evan's was wearing I want to give her that one but I haven't found the exact emblem (?) thing Feather - a nod to Captain Evan's cherokee and creek roots and the rest of the fletchers as well Hair - I think like the fletcher class she has light hair and since she was meant for like sub duties and such that her hair should blend in with water but half of her hair is black now due to the smoke and all that from that day Eyes - same deal had two working eyes but one is "offline" i guess (??) but she still pushes through even if its not working. She had a lot of iniuries in the battle
Expression - confident, ready to go into the battle against Center Force and defend her sisters and charging in Clothes - i imagine she had normal" fletcher clothes but i made this kind of cropped because Captain Evan's lost his shirt. The thigh bow is a nod to Yukikaze' saluting to her as she went down and earning her respect. I gave it the white and red color for Japan. T medal Captain Evan's was given, of course the fletcher stockings with a T3 to be a nod to Taffy 3 and combat boots with the like ship? Thing? She has a long cape to make her silhouette look bigger than it actually is to kind of nod at the fact that Taffy 3 was mistaken for a whole other fleet therefore drawing heavy gunfire. Etc etc
Rigging: I took inspo from her found remains and i kept it asymmetrical since her whole body was never located. I have the place on the right Evan's was standing as the enemy attacked, the front of her ship with her number and the. Gun. I dont know what the thing is but i gave her a shield (with the whatever those are) because I see her as more of a relentless defender (where as I see Samuel as more of an attacker that fought as if she was fully offensive). If my memory is correct Johnston went multiple ways to draw gunfire away from the others and was the first to break away initially.
I made a concept doodle for USS Johnston if you dont know about her and Taffy 3 they are just amazing ships man. I couldnt do her justice like a professional would
