Behind me, out of frame, stretches Kielder Water, the largest artificial lake in England. It's about 8 miles long and the far end is only a mile or two from the Scottish border.
Behold, my major contribution to world #geography. A long time ago (late 1970s) I was responsible for the downstream face of Kielder Dam, setting out markers to guide the machines in the biggest muckshift in Europe at the time. It's still where I put it. #northumberland #kielder #earthmoving
