The photo doesn’t do it justice. I’ve cleared the driveway dozens of times in the last 10 days or so. Just keeps snowing. I guess buying that used snow thrower from the side of the road and fixing it up was the right thing to do #lakeeffect

This morning's "How it started" "How it's going" transition from leaving my house to being on the road ten minutes later. The second is an UNRETOUCHED PHOTO of the whiteout conditions. At one point I could see nothing - no tail lights, no traffic lights...nothing. #LakeEffect #HyperlocalWeather

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Ashland and Bayfield counties from 4 a.m. Friday through noon Saturday.  These areas will be under the influence of heavy lake effect snow showers that form and come on shore from Lake Superior.

A Winter Storm Warning will be in effect for Gogebic, Iron, and Ontonagon counties from 6 a.m. Friday, January 15, 2026, through noon Saturday, January 16 (Central Standard Time). A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Ashland and Bayfield counties from 4 a.m. Friday through noon Saturday. These areas will be under the influence of heavy lake effect snow showers that form and come on shore from Lake Superior.

Snowfall totals from the current storm system pushing through the western Great Lakes region will range from 1 to 2 inches along and west of Highway 53, to 2 to 4 inches in the Arrowhead and interior northwest Wisconsin regions, to 4 to 8 inches in the Bayfield Peninsula region, to 8 to 15 inches along the South Shore Snowbelt region.
