For lapwing lovers- update on the recent Gloucestershire birds mentioned in my poem! Since I saw them in Lincs in the '60s, lapwings have declined by 55%, partly due to winter crops- too tall for nests. Remedies are being tried. I'm told there are still lapwings near my sighting!

On a walk on the ridgeway this afternoon near Chilton saw a flock of #Lapwings & 10 #Redshanks looking for a roosting area in the parsnip field. Miles from a area of water.
Just the most incredible #curlew sighting today. We were just walking back from Moss and Moor towards #Ilkley along the busy A road and spotted the two fields next to it were filled with curlews and #lapwings, far too many to count.
