A breakdown of this year's #Lexember. I created a total of 225 words in #Lasat, for an average of 7.26 words a day. Left, the number of words I created each day, and right is the total number of words split up by week (I counted the 29th, 30th, and 31st as week 5). This was fun! And probably insane.

And finally, for the Conworkshop prompt "A toast to...", my very last word for #Lasat #Lexember. May this be the word that defines 2026.

Summary of Lexember 2025 Another year, another Lexember done. Now it’s time to tally my results from Lexember 2025. And first of all, my heartfelt thanks to ConWorkShop, whose daily themes make Lexember a pure pleasu…

#conlang #lexember #Rireinutire

Flawless victory! In #Lexember2025 I coined 119 new words and managed to avoid coining a further 22 by the adroit use of homonymy and polysemy.

#Lexember Final Day: Turn of the Year

The final day of Yule, or Yòlim [jòlīm], marks the end of the Winter season and the start of a new year with the coming of Spring. This day is known as I᷈nove᷈ [ɪɳɔvə], and while most cultural traditions around the Empire differ...

#Lexember Day 30 (CU): Role in Society

#phori only has a few words that are of note in this regard, mostly of the three degrees of authority.

First is Rigādī [ɾìgɒ̄dí], which is a general term for mortal rulers. While they are often regarded with respect, they are also cautioned against hubris...

#Lexember Day 29 (Catchup): A Formal Greeting

Despite #phori being largely associated with the night, their association with the Empire has lead to their equivalent of "good morning" being Razhis Rus [ɾɑ̀ʒíʃ ɾūʃ], which translates to "dawn's beauty/grace".

#Lexember Day 28 (Catchup): Ceremonial Attire

One of the main events of the holiday celebrating the union of the two imperial capitals is a masquerade ball that alternates between the two cities each year. However, most notable are the masks (Ular [ulɑʁ]) that are worn by the elite representatives.

#Lexember Day 27 (Catchup): Cultural/Societal Values

At the forefront of most doctrine in #phori is Orgit [ɔ̀ɾgít], or "willpower". This stems not only from their connection to the Sentinel governing that concept, but also because of how deeply connected it is to dream manipulation and psionics.

#Lexember Day 31: relating to the new year

G'sunan
kɘ̊hɤ̊ga, (n.) (meteorological) solstice, (from Aqolo: o̊lạaho̊e̊yuu’ii, astrological solstice)

From Aqolo to G'suna, the intricacies of stars and weather got a but lost. Thus, the new year starts the hottest day of the year.

Happy New Year!

Our final #Lexember word is the game name itself! Sovála got its name from Engála, our #conlang for rabbits, and is the name of the lake in their region. The name means "Great Heart". <3

Today’s #Lexember #Valyrian glyph is brōzi “name”. This word features prominently in one of my all time favorite scenes from Game of Thrones: the introduction of Grey Worm played by Jacob Anderson.

Thanks for joining me this Lexember!

It’s the last day of #lexember, and our prompt from @madelinejames.bsky.social was “something associated with the turn of the year. A bit of a challenge when my speakers live in an eternally frozen day.

A graphic showing the word “nyagnga” in the Valya script, as well as the translation “to boil.”

It’s #Lexember 31st! We made it!

Today’s Valya word is *nyagnga*, meaning “boil.” That’s /ɲaɡŋa/, which may look difficult, but I almost went with *gngi* /gŋi/.

*Nyagnga* is only used for boiling food in liquid. To talk about boiling the liquid itself, see here:
