A 3-tier metal & wire shelving system, being prepared for seed starting. 2 shelves have plastic sheeting covering them, and LED plant lights lay on the shelves, waiting to be set up. The windows behind the shelving unit look out to bright blue skies & plenty of sunshine.

Hubs hooked me up with a custom snow remover for the hoop house (duck taped a push broom to an extension pole). Worked like a charm!

On a patch of green grass sit 5 giant heads of green cabbage, freshly pulled from the garden beds, each with huge green outer leaves.

A bamboo cutting board has a chef's knife with a black handle sitting on it, with a few flecks of green cabbage shreds on the blade. Behind the knife is a small pile of shredded green cabbage, surrounded by larger chunks of the cabbage head that are waiting to be sliced.

Several pint-sized wide mouth glass Ball canning jars sit on a cream, gray & black flecked granite countertop. The jars are 3/4 full of the shredded cabbage & salt blend of a sauerkraut recipe. The cabbage is weighed down with glass weights, and the jars have brightly-colored (pink, green, blue, or yellow) silicone "burp" lids that allow the fermenting cabbage to off-gas.

Pulled the first 5 humongo cabbages of the season today, then got right to work channeling my Polish ancestors & making the pure magick that is homemade sauerkraut. 11 jars of the goooood stuff, now fermenting happily in the cellar!
