Here is a Minnesota winter picture, in an urban park, viewed from the north-east.
A group of older evergreen trees with arm-spreading branches are casting long shadows across the deep, sunset-lit snow. The calm, serene view belies the fact that the temperature is viciously bitter cold.
The rough texture of the tree trunks and branches are of varying shades of brown; and in the shadows of the last rays of sunset, rather than bright evergreen green - the tree needles appear mossy-grey, and the snow beneath has a golden glow.
In the foreground there are just a few man-made tracks left by pedestrians who trudged through the snow, and in the far background - between the trees - are glimpses of houses.
The most visible is a two-story, dark grey-blue wooden plank one, with old-fashioned white, two-paned sash windows, and a small canopy over the doorway.
Yes! A day for #sunlight in these grey days! It's Saturday and the #BlueSkyArtShow. See ALT text for more info.
