Happy New Year? Yeah, not really. January 2nd, I got slapped in the face with some real shitty news, and it’s gone downhill from there in the ensuing weeks. I hate it here.

At least I had my January Patreon Rewards to draw and keep me occupied for several minutes.

I usually balk at likenesses, but doing Christopher Walken as Max Schreck from Batman Returns – a movie I had just watched on Christmas Eve – was kind of a fun challenge. Let’s not make this a regular thing.

Lucky Luke is a French comic strip cowboy, and I did struggle with this one a bit. I – possible wrongly – assume that people who support me want me to draw their requests in my own specific style (whatever that is). But, when asked to do something like Lucky Luke, or, for example, a Simpsons character, I just feel like the appeal and fame of that character is within the very specific art style of their creators. So basically, I ape what the creator has done and it just looks like a bad copy of someone else’s art. Or I draw it like “me” and it no longer resembles the beloved character. Like I said, a struggle. But I think I found an okay medium here.

So listen: while I have some time, I was suddenly informed to vacate my home of the last six years. I work part time, am disabled, and rents are fucking ridiculously outrageous. If you can, please help me try to save up some cash for moving expenses by:

Supporting my Patreon!

Ordering a commission!

Shopping at my store! 30% Off EVERYTHING

and hell, Donating cash for the sake of goodness (I’d prefer the other options). And, also, spread the word!

I hate begging, but, I’m in a pickle.

Thank you. I love you.
