A quick evening frog count and there were *19* pairs, plus another half dozen just chilling by themselves. This is in a suburban back garden pond measuring about 2mx1m that I dug out as a half term project 5 years ago. Truly if you build it they will come! #MediumSizedPond #wildlife #amphibians

Given that there's been absolutely no frog action yet, and water frozen over this morning, am looking to another March start.

World of crazy science! An ice spike appeared overnight on this bowl of water in the garden. There were also some intriguing bobbly formations in the ice on the #mediumsizedpond alongside the usual crinkly pattern created by wind.
