This is an image of a forceps (grey, steel-coloured) being sharpened on a thin, grey whetstone that has a shine on it which indicates that there is also lubricating oil on the whetstone. These are sharp forceps for mosquito midgut and salivary gland dissections. The image is taken under a light microscope.
This is a second image of a bottle of oil labelled "Fine Science Tools Surgical Instrument Oil" next to a long, thin, grey whetstone that is placed on a light microscope underneath a spotlight.
Honestly, if you do #entomology or #microsurgery, this whetstone and oil from FST was maybe £20 total and I have just sharpened all our insectary forceps in no time! Massively recommend getting something like this!
