Map of a running route in the mountains. Map shows a short segment ascending a steep escarpment up to an alpine plateau. There is also a long segment going up a valley floor. On top of the map, the following statistics are shown: Distance 20.03 miles; elevation gain 3,862 feet; time 4 hours 11 minutes
Photo taken from inside a relatively dense, closed canopy forest of spruce and Douglas fir conifer trees. There is one tree with a distinctive lean, as well as an old, dead log laying on the ground. The forest floor has dappled sunlight and exposed litter, as well as some fairly large snowdrifts remaining that have not yet melted in the spring weather
View of a mountain landscape in spring. The focus of the photo is a craggy, snow covered Ridgeline, contrasted with Aspen trees with spring green leaves in the foreground.
Fun early season day in the mountains. Trails up high were still a little too snowy and sloppy to connect my originally intended route. Luckily, this area is so stunning that even spending ~6 miles on the roads is quite enjoyable. #trailRunning #mountainRunning #ultraTraining
