Dee Rees’ #Mudbound is a ripe, superbly crafted period film. The narrative does hit some familiar notes and a few of the characterisations can lack a little subtlety. Yet on the whole, it is a powerful work. I am excited to see what Rees works on next. #CatchUp2017 #Film2017

I think it’s a mark of progress that #Mudbound not getting nominated for Best Director or Picture feels more like Hollywood snubbing Netflix than slighting African Americans or women...at the end of the day Dee still got robbed though #OscarNoms
